My husband has now been deployed for about a month and things havnt been the best. Things have been a bit rough but I love military life and would not give it up for the world.
He finally hit his 1st port and well that ended up being a nightmare. He was in port for 3 days and I started to get really up set I had not gotten a phone call or an email, but in his defense.... it seems it wasnt the cheapest place to contact home either. He stayed in a hotel with a friend, and this hotel decided they thought it would be a grand idea to charge 8 buxs an hour for internet access.... I guess they really love our military people huh? After his 3rd day of fun and tons of money spent he finds his way back to the ship to find his email box loaded with tons of hate mail from me wondering why oh why we havnt heard from him, yet he found away to blow his alloted money in 3 days.... Come to find out the only reason he found his way back to ship is because our bank shut off his credit card because he was spending such large amounts they thought it was stolen, rather funny but sad because my poor son ( hes 4) got the short end of the stick. My husband was in the middle of attempting to buy our son gifts when the bank shut off his card. I love the bank was thinking about us and trying to protect us, but if my husband was not able to contact me I never would have known he had no access to money. That would have been bad.... he wouldnt have had the cash to mail me the gifts he bought me lol!!!!! Well now my husband has ran out of liberty and can no longer leave the ship. We have 2 kids... a 4 year old boy and a 10 year old girl. Both of their b-days are right around the corner. so instead of my son getting a b-day gift sent from daddy now he gets none! I was forced to find something special for my son to pretend mail from my husband. I was told about this web site.... Militaryhandbags.com and it came to mind for b-day gifts for my kids "from daddy" They take the uniform from your loved ones and turn them in to all sorts of wonderful things, from handbags to pillows. In the case for my kids I thought the pillow would be such a wonderful idea. Just one of our many issues we will face come this deployment, but that is what makes military life so much fun. Always having to find new ways to handle life.
Bring it on ! Navy wife of 10 years ready and willing to handle anything!
